.:: If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen.-- Henry David Thoreau ::.

Cutting it close but finally done. I brewed a batch of English Brown Ale for Oktoberfest. First time brewing in several months.

We did a family hike yesterday for National Public Lands Day. Went out to Chubb. Busy day on the trail.

With the next Friday/Saturday open thinking about an overnight hike.

Cleaning up the website. The evolution continues....

Received great feedback about the hike talk yesterday.

Week four of the semester and back to my Wednesday routine. Grade, read, workout, and cook for Neale.

Had my AT talk this morning at my college. Filled the room. I had about 60+ students. A few fellow faculty and my Dean in attendance. Heard from my vice president that she was quite moved by my talk. Good feedback overall. Neale attended and was about to run my PowerPoint presentation.

I learned I came in fourth in my age group for the race I ran on Sunday.

Excellent weather here. Beautiful day. I opened the windows when I got home and Neale caught a chill around 8:30. Good breeze.

We went to Costco to resupply the bulk items. Neale called her stepmother in transit. It is her birthday.

UPDATE: FBI appreciated the information they received in regards to Stonewall's death. I am glad I could help but I have little reason to believe justice will occur.

"...release me...."

Great weekend. Spent Friday night at my parents. Went to PJ20 at Alpine on Saturday. Rainy but we were prepared. It stopped by QOTSA. Neale hit the wall around 11:30 so we did not see the Temple of the Dog reunion but we saw all of PJ set before the encores. The next morning there was plenty of Pearl Jam fans at the hotel. On Sunday, we visited a friend of Neale's she met in DC during her time there in 2009. Good people. We exchanged regional beer. Then, on Sunday night we went back to my parents place to see Noel & family. Overall, excellent time.

Considering redesign/overhaul of the site. Slim and trim update coming.

Previous journal has been archived.
