Chris' Frequently Asked Questions

Looking for Neale's FAQs?

Who are you and why do you have a web page?

My name is Chris Sutcliff and I started a web page with Geocities when I was working on my masters' thesis covering online teaching (1997-1998). I wanted to know how difficult it was to do basic html and make a page. From there, the web pages grew and then blogging became more popular in mainstream culture. I realized the page (1999?) would be an easy way to communicate when many people from around the country and a place to store information. Overall, I am just a guy with one small spot in the greater virtual existence. I do not sell anything or strongly encourage any particular point of view. I gladly do not add porn to the web as well. I update the page on a regular basis because I spend several hours online each day. I teach online for my job and use the web for information related to my various hobbies (news, brewing, guitar, etc.)

Twilight Zone...or the Outer Limits?

Twilight Zone.

What do you think is the worst movie ever made?

Manos, The Hands of Fate. I saw it while watching MST3K. The worst movie I ever saw in a theater was "Dr. Giggles" but it was for free. The worst movie I ever paid to see was "Double Jeopardy". Like Naomi Judd but not that much. A fellow grad student stood me up at the theater and I did not see the movie we planned to see because I thought we would reschedule. "Double Jeopardy" was playing at the same time and I was already there. I saw "Usual Suspects" by chance so I thought I could have the same luck.

Why are manhole covers round?

A triangle would have looked sinister.

If you could eat dinner with and "get to know" one famous person (living or dead), who would you choose?

Werner Heisenberg. Shoeless Joe Jackson is a close second.

Has the death of a famous person ever had an effect on you? Who was it and how did you feel?

Allen Ginsberg. His work helped me appreciate poetry, beauty, and life. It was very sad. I saw him speak at Butler and it changed my perspective on life. I was in pharmacy but failing at it. Sociology provided me with a way to help people.

If you could BE a famous person for 24 hours, who would you choose?

Barack Obama.

Do people ever tell you that you look like someone famous? Who?

Neale stated that I looked like Ian Ziering, or Steve Sanders from 90210. However, she only said that once or twice so I escaped that label. I asked my students once and they did not know who Ian Ziering was or cared. I saw him on E! recently and he looked good for his age.

Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Support your answer with a proof.

There is no such thing as hell so this really is not worth the time to pursue any further.

Pineapple or sauerkraut on pizza?

Sauerkraut. Rarely. Pineapple. Never.

What is your Enneagram score?

I am a Type 1w9 (main) and Type1w2 (mean). Quote: "You desire perfection, for everyone to see you as that. Impetus - deficit and/or excess of order in your life experience. Problem - it is impossible to have everyone agree with you no matter what views or roles you adopt." Out of a desire to live in harmony with the world, Nines withdraw in an attempt to avoid the misuse of their strong behavioral intelligence. They maintain the illusion of harmony by keeping a positive outlook on life. At their best, Nines help people live in harmony by using their positive outlook on life and their strong behavioral intelligence to find peaceful solutions to people's problems.
